Congratulations! You are going to a super amazing place and are going to have the time of your life! Let’s quickly check whether you have the basic things needed to enter & sustain in the heavenly island.

For Visa

  1. Passport (duh) - Please check expiry dates way in advance

  2. Travel insurance - Have a full travel insurance for entire duration of your trip. Good to have EVERYTHING covered, including emergency evacuation. We used digit for our insurance and the experience was good - you can do the same.

  3. Return ticket & hotel bookings - For visa on arrival you will need to show the return ticket & details of your bookings. Take print outs if you can (but save paper and take prints on both sides)

  4. Cash - Bali is a cash heavy country, take enough cash. Many places (including the visa on arrival counter) charge extra for card payments.

For travel

  1. Mosquito protection - You will be travelling outside, you will be on beaches, there will be insects. Take a simple mosquito repellent roll on and save your life!

  2. Sunscreen - There will be a lot of sun, your skin will be exposed. Apply good amount of sunscreen on your face & body. And carry hats and sunglasses.

  3. Comfortable footwear - You will have to walk, a lot. Get comfortable shoes & get flip flops for the beach.

  4. Waterproof small bag - We mostly travelled on 2 wheelers. A small bag with all essentials for the day was very helpful through out

  5. Water bottle - Due to humidity and heat, you should drink a lot of water, carry a bottle & fill with water instead of buying lot of single use plastic bottles 🙂

  6. Swimming costume - There are soooo many places to swim in Bali - from the ocean, to waterfalls to good old swimming pools. Carry swimming costumes & thin towels with you (almost always)

Good luck with your travels!
